And that almost half of the workers globally are considering leaving their current employers by the end of the year? (<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Source: McKinsey \u201cIt\u2019s time for leaders to get real about hybrid\u201d July 2021<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Did you know that having a\u00a0bad boss\u00a0continues to be the number 1 reason why people leave their jobs?<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What we have found is that your leaders are fearful of the control they have lost with remote working, this is a similar experience to the one that new managers have. Before managing people, they are in control because their result depends 100 percent on them, but when they start managing people now it\u2019s not 100 percent on them and that creates a threat in the brain for new managers. \u201cI am now not in control of my results which might affect my performance, credibility, status, etc.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When they manage people in the office they are \u201cwatching\u201d, they can see people working or pretending to work and that gives a sense of control. But when\u00a0they cannot \u201cwatch\u201d people again a threat to the brain creates fear of control loss.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">They also are\u00a0feeling disconnected from their teams,\u00a0losing engagement with people\u00a0and suffering social deterioration and sense of belonging in their teams.\u00a0Those are all potential risks that are going to be\u00a0riskier\u00a0for the leader that is not prepared with the tools to engage better with their teams local or remote.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Leaders are facing the \u201cGreat Attrition\u201d with record raising turnover losing key people. Because the last 18 months showed people that they can work and produce from home and that it not only works but also brought a lot of things that they want to continue having in their lives. Like more family contact, ability to organize their time with other home chores, work as I travel and many others. The keyword today is FLEXIBILITY.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We also have found that leaders are\u00a0not respecting working boundaries for them and others, they are\u00a0dealing\u00a0with \u201czoom fatigue\u201d and exhausted employees,\u00a0not sure about how the new working arrangements will work\u00a0and\u00a0feeling near completely burned\u00a0out.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The mistake they make is thinking that they need to define the new\u00a0reality when what they need is\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">extreme listening, engagement and enable sharing to co-create new team dynamics.<\/span><\/strong><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"section post-body\">\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Now more than ever the people smart leader with a\u00a0high\u00a0level of emotional skills is needed to work with their people so\u00a0that\u00a0they can restore\u00a0CONNECTION, TRUST\u00a0and INSPIRE\u00a0and\u00a0RETAIN\u00a0people.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remote leadership is not a new thing but working from home, hybrid work and teams combining different working environments is still in constant evolution.
